The Norrod Abbott Global Football Academy (NAGFA) was founded in early 2025 by Onoriode Onyen, a former footballer driven by personal experience and a deep passion to transform the lives of young athletes through football.
The academy was officially launched on January 18, 2025, at Uwa Primary School in Benin City, Edo State, with a strong commitment to grassroots development. The event brought together football stakeholders, coaches, aspiring players, and community leaders, signaling a new era for talent development in the region.
Following the launch, the academy held its official unveiling ceremony on July 18, 2025, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. The unveiling highlighted NAGFA’s mission to bridge the gap between raw talent and global football opportunities. It showcased not only the academy’s branding and structure but also its dedication to holistic training—combining sports, education, and character development.
NAGFA was established with the vision of identifying, nurturing, and developing footballers between the ages of 7 and open age, particularly those from underrepresented or overlooked communities. The academy focuses on technical training, mentorship, and international-standard coaching programs, while also prioritizing discipline, leadership, and life skills.
Today, Norrod Abbott Global Football Academy stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity in Nigerian football, with plans for international partnerships, scouting programs, and tournaments that will put Edo State and Nigeria on the global football map.
How We Started
Norrod Abbott Global Football Academy was founded in early 2025 by Onoriode Onyen, inspired by his personal journey and desire to empower future footballers.

Mr. Ekerebe supports daily coaching activities and fitness, ball control, and tactical awarenes. Know for his calm presence and fricus on fundamentals, he plays a key role in helping players improve their technical skill sets and game understanding.
An expert in talent identification, Mr. Sampele travels/ across regions, to scout promising, young players and build partnerships. His sharp eye for pohial and passion for youth football ensures that NOA Global Football Academy continues to attract and nurture.
